Thomas "Wayne" Adams, Sr., born August 18, 1931 in Louisville, Kentucky where he was honored as a Kentucky Colonel went to be with the Lord on October 30, 2010.
He is survived by his loving wife, Yvonne, of 62 years; four daughters, Judy McGlothin (Acworth, Ga), Marcia Miller (Blue Springs, Mo), Lisa Driggers (Skip) (Loganville, Ga), Sandy Parker (David) (Scottsmoor, Fl). Predeceased by both parents; sons, Tommy and Richard Adams. He was greatly blessed by 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. One brother in Louisville, Ky; one brother-in-law, Bobby Vincent (Louisville); and one sister-in-law, Glynda Lowery (Georgetown, Ga).
He was a building contractor, owned two cabinet shops in Louisville, Ky prior to moving to Titusville in 1971. His craftsmanship skills were utilized while working at Disney World, where some of his work is still displayed today.
Wayne worked for Brevard County in the Building and Maintenance department. Using his Craftsman skills daily, he adopted the nick name "Mr. Wonderful". There he supervised many trustees and received numerous citations from Judges and County Commissioners for his outstanding work and his eye for detail.
After retiring from the County he became fondly known as the "Lawn Mower Man". He also yearly enjoyed planting a garden that reaped a bountiful harvest of fresh vegetables that he loved to share with his friends and those in need. Wayne also loved camping and fishing, his favorite spot was at Lake Okeechobee.
The family would like to especially thank the countless hours of service and kindness that were extended to them by VITAS Hospice of Melbourne, Fl.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to be sent on his behalf to VITAS Healthcare Corp., 4450 W. Eau Gallie Blvd., Melbourne, Fl. 32934.
