Lively---Herman S. Gaver, 92, of Lively died Thursday, October 9, 1997. The son of Lewis F. and Minnie S. Gaver of Meyersville Md., he graduated from Middletown High School in 1924 and matriculated in University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, where he graduated in 1927 as a registered pharmacist. In 1929 he joined the Peoples Drug chain as store manager in Hagerstown, Frederick and Baltimore, Md. He acquired his own pharmacy in 1933 in Sparrowspoint, Md., which he sold in 1953 and joined his brother's pharmacy until 1969, when he retired and moved to Lively. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Clark, of 65 years. He is survived by one sister, Margaret Stauffere of Lancaster, Pa.; one great nephew, Albert Collison of Hartfield; two great-great nephews, Lee Collison of Voorhess, N.J., and Keith Collison of Baltimore, Md.; one great niece, Sandy Collison of Parkton, Md., and one great-great-niece, Whelee Collison of Voorhess, N.J. He was a member of Upper Lancaster Ruritan Club and a member and deacon of Lebanon Baptist church of Alfonso, Va. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, October 12, by the Rev. Carlton Milstead Jr. and the Rev. Lester T. Marsh at Lebanon Baptist Church, with interment in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Garland Forrester, Walter Balsley, Emory Rice, J.J. Somers, Nat Hauser, Robert Pyles, Paul Gaver Jr. and David Stauffere. Memorial contributions may be made to Lebanon Baptist Church Memorial Fund, Lively, 22507.
