Dorothy E. Olson, 88, of Aurora, passed away on Friday, February 3 at Rush-University Medical Center in Chicago. She was born on June 17, 1917 in Aurora to Orie and Ellen Mallette.
Dorothy was a Kindergarten Assistant for many years, spending time at Oak Park and Brady Schools in Aurora. Anyone who knew Dorothy knows that she was a very talented musician. She was the organist at Redeemer Lutheran Church for many years, and at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in North Aurora for 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle in 1997; her daughter, Janice Ballard; her brother, Orville Mallette; and her parents.
She is survived by her children, Gerald (Barbara) Olson of Carol Stream, Wayne (Diane) Olson of Hinckley, Jack (Jean) Olson of Austin, TX, and Joyce (Ronald) Salfisberg of Naperville; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many friends.
Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 Am on Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at the Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway in Montgomery. Pastors Maureen Van Heerdan and Kathy North will officiate. Interment to follow at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be receiving guests from 3-9 PM, Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 115 Oak St., North Aurora.
