Lisa A. Abernathy, 51, Anderson passed away unexpectedly at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie on Tuesday, July 1, 2014.

Lisa was born June 6, 1963 in Marion to David and Eleanor (Dickerson) Abernathy. She was a graduate of Madison-Grant High School-Class of 1981. She then graduated from Indiana Business College in Fort Wayne in 1983. She has worked the Hopewell Center for 12 years, Indiana Home Care for 7 years and most recently for CareOne Homecare Services for the past 2 years. Lisa was a member of King's Chapel Christian Church of rural Alexandria. She loved to cook and was especially known for her chocolate chip cookies and she enjoyed traveling. Time that was spent with family and especially with her nieces and nephew was very important to Lisa.

Nieces: Sarah McClure-Anniston, Alabama
Kacey Abernathy-Glen Burnie, Maryland
Nephew: Jonathan "JD" Abernathy-Mayport, Florida
Special friends: Debbie Cunningham and Becky Day

She preceded in death by her father in 1973 and her mother in 1987.

Services honoring Lisa's life will take place at 5 pm on Saturday, July 5, 2014 in the Owens-Noffze Funeral Home, 1009 West Walnut Street, Summitville. The Rev. Tim Cunningham will officiate. Interment will follow in Vinson Memorial Cemetery in Summitville. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 pm on Saturday prior to the services.
