Last Rites For Henry E. Stoakes
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon for Henry E. Stoakes, 85, at the family home. Rev. C. G. McKnight of the United Presbyterian church was in charge of the services. Burial was made in Glenwood cemetery.

Mr. Stoakes passed away Thursday following a lingering illness. He is survived by his wife and two sons Braden and Kenneth, one daughter Mrs. Clifford Ballou of Eagle Grove, two sisters, one brother and five grandchildren.

Obituary
Henry E. Stoakes, son of George and Alice Barbour Stoakes, was born near Traer, Tama county. Iowa, May 22, 1869, and passed away at Cherokee, Iowa, April 8, 1954 following a lingering illness. He came to Wright county in 1885 and aside from 17 years in Jasper county, he has spent his life in this vicinity. On February 26, 1890 he was united in marriage to Ida Irene Braden of Goldfield. To this union five children were born Lawrence, deceased in 1920, Linwood. who died in infancy in 1894. Kenneth of Los Angeles, Calif., Braden of Goldfield, and Carrie (Mrs. Clifford Ballou) of Eagle Grove. Besides his wife and children he is survived by two sisters Mrs. Martha Campbell of Molina, Colorado. Mrs. Maude Henry of Goldfield. Iowa, one brother Jay B. Stoakes of Reinbeck, Iowa, and Ken Stoakes of Goldfield, Mrs. Eleanor Shefloe of Minneapolis, Minn., and Lois Ballou of Eagle Grove. He was preceded in death by three sisters, two brothers and one grandson.
