Born in Monroe, Darrell was the son of William & Leona (Lazette) Sr.

He married the love of his life, Shirley Rushlow on February 9, 1945 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroe.

Darrell then proudly served his country during World War II with the United States Army from March 26, 1945 until August 3, 1946 having served in Osaka, Japan.

After his discharge from the Army, he worked at Sealtest Dairy, Monroe Auto Equipment and then for Ford Motor Company, from where he retired in 1982. A member of UAW Local 723, Darrell was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he served as an usher for many years and was Past President of the Knights of St. Joseph.

He was also active with the Belgium American Club and the Knights of Columbus. Darrell enjoyed dancing, camping and worked bingo at the Eagles. In 2004 he became an Honorary Graduate of Monroe High School.

Darrell leaves to cherish his memory, Shirley, his wife of the past 69 years; children: Darrell (Karen) Bezeau Jr. of Monroe, Bruce (Megan) Bezeau of Monroe, Elaine (Barry) Bunkelman of Monroe and Connie Eldridge of Jacksonville, Florida; eight grandchildren: Bradley (Anne) Bezeau, Shannon (Adams) Hoskins, Leah (Andy) Marinelli, Traci Bunkelman, Drake (Sara) Bunkelman, Kylee Bezeau, Jacques Bezeau, Joel Bezeau; nine great grandchildren: Taylor Kramer, Chance Bezeau, Tate Bezeau, Sofia Bunkelman, Jude Bunkelman, Vivie Bunkelman Joseph Marinelli, Elise Marie Hoskins and Garren Hoskins; as well as three brothers: Donald (Dorothy) Bezeau (Darrell's twin), Eugene Bezeau, Robert (Rosemary) Bezeau; and a sister-in-law Bette Bezeau of Monroe.

In addition to his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by a brother William Bezeau Jr. and one sister Rita Ann Keppila.
