Carol Ray Adkins, 53, of Micaville, went home to be with the Lord Friday, June 27, 2014, at her home. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Dan and Martha Williams Ray. She was the wife of the late Ricky Lee Adkins. Carol was also preceded in death by a niece: Brittany Honeycutt. She was a member of Bowditch Union Free Will Baptist Church. Carol was a loving Mother and Mamaw, who enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving are a daughter: Autumn Laws and husband, Jeff; son: Jason Ray and wife, Somer; grandchildren: Eli and Cami Jo Ray and Jenson Laws, all of Burnsville; a sister: Stacey Honeycutt and husband, Curtis; brothers: Russell and Curtis Ray, all of Micaville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 7PM Sunday in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. Revs. Ronnie Whitson and Perry Norton will officiate. A graveside service will be held at 11AM Monday in the John Ray Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7PM Sunday at the funeral home.
