Benjamin is the grandson of Margaret Brown and John F. Glover, a delegate of the Georgia Constitutional Convention of 1877, the second state Constitutional Convention to have included elected African-American delegates. In addition, Gordon is the grandson of Wiley Cash Baggett and Louisa Catherine Scoggins.
Benjamin's siblings are: Wiley Gordon (often spelled, "Gordon Wiley") Glover; John Fryer Glover; Harriet "Hattie" K. Glover; Claude Key Glover; Margaret Glover Nunnelee; Clifford J. Glover; Ernest Willie Glover; and Blanch Glover Johnson.
By 1892, Benjamin and his family moved to Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia. By 1900, Benjamin and his family moved to Texas, first living in Rockwall, Dallas County and later, Denison, Grayson County, Texas.
By 1910, Benjamin worked as a Fireman for MKT Railroad in Denison.
In 1917, Benjamin registered for the U.S. military draft of WWI, stating that he had four years of prior experience in the infantry of the Oklahoma militia. In 1918, Benjamin began his WWI military service as Private, Supply Company, 114th Infantry, 29th Division transported, and was transported to Newport News, Virginia. In 1919, Benjamin arrived at St. Nazaire, France, with his Rank, Stable Sergeant, with Supply Company, same infantry and division.
By 1920, Benjamin returned from WWI military service and worked as a Fireman with MKT Railroad in Denison.
Benjamin married Mary Edna Emmert September 19, 1921, in Sherman, Grayson County, Texas. The couple had no children.
Benjamin's mother, Martha "Mellie" Baggett Glover, passed away in 1921, and is buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Denison.
Benjamin Paul Glover passed away January 29, 1927, from crush injuries to both legs while working for MKT. Benjamin is buried at Oakwood Cemetery in Denison.
Benjamin's father, Benjamin Stephen Glover, passed away in 1944 in Oklahoma and is buried at Oakwood Cemetery in Denison, not at Calvary Cemetery in Denison as Benjamin's Findagrave memorial states.
