Mrs. Crowe was born on June 15, 1925, in Holyoke, Mass., the daughter of the late Charles J. and Virginia Canse DeDeurwaerder. She had been a resident of Rome and Floyd County for the greater part of her life and at the time of her death was residing at Renaissance Marquis where she was an active member of the community. Mrs. Crowe was a Christian who enjoyed helping others and her greatest joy came from her family. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Crowe was associated with General Electric for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by a brother, Victor DeDeurwaerder in 2001. Mrs. Crowe was married in 1977 to Lawrence G. "Larry" Crowe who preceded her in death on May 6, 2005.
Mrs. Crowe is survived by her children, James E. (Brenda) Cochran of Lindale, Linda J. (Chandler) Rittenhouse of Rome, Mary (Andy) Anderson of Armuchee, and Augusta Spearman of Rome. Eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Charles "Chuck" DeDeurwaerder of California. Nieces and nephews also survive.
