Anna Julia Ford, age 87, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on February 16, 2012. Anna was born August 23, 1924, in Red Hill, Texas, to Leo Gregory and Lillian (Rodgers) Lambert. On October 6, 1941, she married James Ford, in McKinney, Texas.
Anna and her husband were in the grocery business for twenty nine years; later they managed the McKinney Country Club for eight years; Anna also worked for Brown Shoe Fit on the square. Anna was a member of the DAR; past president of B&PW, and the McKinney Country Club W.G.A. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for 80 years.
She is survived by her daughters, Julia Cain and husband C.A., Dianna Strickland and husband Kenneth, Kay Stevens and husband Frank, all of McKinney, Texas; son, Butch Ford and wife Paula of Memphis, Tennessee; sisters, Florence Schulze of Granbury, Texas and Sr. Evelyn Lambert of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Michele Bernard and husband David, Kelly Guerra and husband David, Scott Stevens, Stacy Sullivan and husband Mike, Stephanie Buckley and husband Joe, Chris Schmiet and husband Will, Shannon Winburn, and Daphne Ford; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. Anna is preceded in death by her parents, husband, six brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, February 20, 2012, at St. Michael the Arch Angel Catholic Church, 652 Redbud Blvd., McKinney, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday evening, from 6-8 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow, Allen, Texas.
