HEISSENBERGER, GERALD ERWIN Gerald Erwin "Pops", "The Dood" Heissenberger of El Cajon died December 23, 2011, of heart failure. He was 72. A celebration of life is planned at a later date. He was born May 1, 1939 in Buffalo, NY to Erwin Norbert Heissenberger and Marie Elizabeth Ries. He and his wife Barbara Ann, who died 20 years previously, were married November 28, 1958. He began as a journeyman plumber and later attained pipefitter status for various plumbing companies in San Diego County and Oregon throughout his 40+ years in the industry. He was an avid HO-scale model train hobbyist and enjoyed spending time with family in the California desert, searching for old bottles and exploring in his VW sand rail. Gerald was born May 1, 1939 in Buffalo, New York to Erwin Norbert and Marie Elizabeth Heissenberger, he was a plumbing pipe fitter. Left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Patti Duncan of Eugene, Oregon, Linda S. Marx of Richland, Washington, Gail Overton of Winterhaven, California, and Gerald. E Heissenberger of California. Johnson Mortuary is handling the private cremation arrangements. Arrangements under the direction of Johnson Mortuary & Desert Lawn Memorial Park, Yuma, AZ.
