The Jacksonville native had lived in Palatka since 1967, coming from Rockledge, Fla. He was a member of Francis Baptist Church and had been attending Christ Independent Methodist Church in Palatka where he played the guitar on the Praise Team. He had worked as a Trooper with the Florida Highway Patrol for the past 22 years. He began his career in Dade County in 1981 and worked in Duval, Putnam, Clay counties and for the past four years in Bradford County. He was a member of the Florida Highway Patrol Broken Spoke Club, the Florida Association of State Troopers, and the American Association of State Troopers. He was a member of the Palatka Horseman's Club, the National Barrel Horse Association and the American Quarter Horse Association. He loved horses, Southern Gospel music and working outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Helen and Mit Stevens; and Mary and Raymond Bedenbaugh.
He is survived by a son, Justin Bedenbaugh, Ft. White; a daughter, Jennifer Bedenbaugh, Ft. White; his mother and father, Toby and Jerry Bedenmbaugh, Palatka; two brothers and sisters-
in-law, Jeff and Pam Bedenbaugh, and Jed and Terri Bedenbaugh, all of Palatka; five nieces and nephews; along with several aunts and uncles, and a special friend, Cathy Cahrs.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 23 at the Christ Independent Methodist Church with the Rev. Amos Price officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Bethel United Methodist Cemetery, Lake City, with the Florida Highway Patrol conducting honors.
