The death of Mrs. Mabel L. Angell was announced in The Cortland Democrat, Cortland, N.Y., Thursday, November 7, 1963, p. 8, Vital Statistics. Her obituary was published in The Post-Standard, Syracuse, N.Y., Thursday, October 31, 1963, p. 6 and The Cortland Democrat, Cortland, N.Y., Thursday, November 14, 1963, p.2. Mabel was a native of Georgetown, member of the South Otselic Methodist Church.

She taught school in South Otselic from 1908 until her retirement in 1939. Mabel was survived by two half brothers, Donald and Edward Rice.

According to her marriage record in 1908 to Lynn B. Angell, Mabel was the daughter of Sylvanus B. and Louise (Legg) Rice.
