Wayne Richard Rankin, 71, of Washington, died Wednesday, April 26, 2006, in his home following a one-year illness.

He was born September 7, 1934, in Washington, a son of Thomas and Gladys Miller Rankin.

Mr. Rankin, a veteran of the Korean War, was a self-employed construction worker and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was a member of Shiloh Fellowship in Washington.

On October 10, 1982, he married Violet Brown, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, George Pierson of Davey, Florida, and Edward Pierson of Washington; three daughters, Debbie Milligan of Jacksonville, Florida, Sandra Pierson of Washington, and Cheryl Schippmann of Crucible; and one grandchild, Matthew Kirby.

Deceased are three brothers, Jack, Dutch and Alvie; and three sisters, Grace, Aggie and Clara Bell.

Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11am Saturday, April 29th with Pastor Edward Popovich officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
