BOILING SPRINGS — Leonard A. Allen, 90, died Sept. 21, 1999, at Crawley Memorial Hospital.He was a native of Swain County, son of the late Rev. Lloyd L. and Carletta Monteith Allen, brother of the late W. Lawson Allen, Lela Allen Greene, retired in 1974 as bookstore manager at Gardner-Webb University, active member and former deacon of Boiling Springs Baptist Church, former member of Lions Club, volunteer at Crawley Memorial Hospital.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Miriam Stillwell Allen; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley Allen and Gene Byers, Blacksburg, S.C.; sister, Edna Allen Ginn, Sylva; granddaughter, Beverly Allen Greene, Shelby; grandsons, Chris and Scott Byers, Blacksburg; four great-grandchildren
