A veteran of WW1, Adrian enlisted into the US Army on November 26th, 1917 at the age of 15. He served in France during the Aisne Defensive from June 1st to the 5th, 1918. He then went on to serve in the following during the war;
June 1st to the 5th, 1918 - Chateau-Thierry Sector
June 6th to July 14th, 1918 - the Champagne-Marne Defensive; July 15th to 18th, 1918 - the Aisne-Marne Offensive; July 18th to August 6th, 1918 - Meuse-Argonne Offensive; September 15th to October 5th, 1918. He was wounded in action on October 5th, 1918.

After the US Army learned that Adrian lied about his age to enlist (he was barely 15) and he had been wounded in action twice during the war, they promptly discharged him for "Convenience of the Government" on February 12, 1919. He was discharged with full honors and had received 2 purple hearts for wounds taken on July 23rd and October 5th 1918.

Married to Ida Mae Parks on the 6th day of November, 1920 in Hammond, In.
