Francis Lee Connolly died Sunday, January 15, 2006 at his home in Gainesville, VA.
Frank was born July 15, 1946 in Springfield, Illinois the son of the late William R. and Margaret M. (nee McGill) Connolly. He married Bonita Ellen Fox on May 11, 1968 at the Navy Station Chapel in Washington, D.C. Frank and Bonnie had a daughter and three sons. The family moved from Ft. Meade, Maryland to the Northern Virginia area 21 years ago. Frank, Senior Chief United States Navy (Retired), served from 1965 to 1985. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Bristow, VA.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his sister, Lorraine Howette.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Bonita E. Connolly of Gainesville, VA; four children, Kathleen E. and husband George A. Beck of Martinsburg, WV, John Brian and wife Jamie L. Connolly of Richmond, VA, Patrick R. Connolly of Fredericksburg, VA and Michael F. Connolly of Gainesville, VA; two brothers, John M. Connolly of Springfield, IL and William P. Connolly of Bethesda, MD; three grandchildren, Madeline Ellen Beck, John Francis Beck and Aiden Ryan Connolly and many nieces and nephews.
Frank will be remembered as a wonderful person. He was kind, generous, had the ability to understand others, and was always able to make a bad situation better. He put his heart into everything he did and faced challenges with dignity and courage.
