David Dean Minshew, 57, of Stantonsburg died Monday, March 14, 2011. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Mr. Minshew is survived by his father and step-mother, Jerney and Freddy Minshew of Wilson; a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Diane Minshew of Port Orange, Fla. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sadie Deans Minshew.

In lieu of flowers memorials in his memory may be directed to Wilson County Mental Health Association, PO Box 652, Wilson, NC 27894.

Sidenote: it would appear to me based on the information in the obituary, that Mr. Minshew was cremated. Recently, I have been informed that a headstone for him is at the Langston-Edmondson Cemetery, so I am assuming his cremains are buried there.
