He was one of the pioneers in the "turpentine" industry in Taylor County. He was for many years associated with Captain Alston Brown who operated a large naval stores business at Blue Creek (Post Office - Thelma, FL.) This establishment worked convicts whom he hired from the State and various counties. He moved to Perry after that business faded out and he was one of the most valued employees of the "Peacock Store" for many years. He is the father of J. Louie Burch who lived in Perry. -
