She suffered an appendix attack and underwent emergency surgery. She died during surgery. Although she was married to a man named Chalfant, no record of him having made any funeral arrangements for her....and she is buried in a pauper's grave at Forest Lawn cemetery... Buffalo NY, with no marker. I visited the cemetery myself and got the information from the attendant.
She is listed as having lived at 157 Seneca St. which is no longer there. Also living at that address is one named L. Nora Goodwin and her profession is listed as "Boarding House Owner". I am not sure if this is the same Nora Goodwin as was Bertha Twist's sister or not. According to early census's Nora's name was Eleanora... could easily have been misinterpreted as L Nora.
