Elizabeth Hudnut, ex-mayor's mother
Memorial services for Elizabeth Allen Kilborne Hudnut, 96, Evanston, ILL., formerly of Indianpolis, mother of former Mayor William H. Hudnut III, are pending at First Presbyterian Church in Evanston. Burial will be at Windover, the Hudnut family home in the Adirondack Mountains, in North Creek, N.Y.
She was born in New York City and graduated from the Chapin School. She was a 1930 graduate of Vassar College, and she received a master's degree from Columbia University in 1931.
She then married a Presbyterian minister, the late Rev. William H. Hudnut Jr., and they served Presbyterian churches in Glendale, Ohio; Springfield, Ill.; and Rochester, N.Y.
Mrs. Hudnut lived in Indianapolis while her husband served as interim minister of Second Presbyterian Church.
She had been an active member of Baden Street Settlement House in Rochester, N.Y., and helped transcribe Braille for the John Milton Society.
Mrs. Hudnut was a longtime member of the Colony Club of New York City.
Memorial contributions may be made to Third Presbyterian Church in Rochester, N.Y., and Presbyterian Homes in Evanston, Ill.
Mrs. Hudnut is survived by her children, William H. III, the Rev. Robert Kilborne, Stewart Skinner, Thomas Cushman Hudnut and Harriet "Holly" Hudnut Halliday; 25 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was the daughter of Robert Stewart Kilborne and Katharine Skinner Kilborne. She was preceded in death by a son David B. Hudnut.
