She was born July 26, 1898 in Big Rock and lived her entire life in that community. She was chief operator for the Bell Telephone Company in the Big Rock office for many years, and since then has been her husband’s assistant in the Post Office.
Mrs. Abbott was a member of the Big Rock Congregational Church, the order of Eastern Star at Hinckley and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband; two sisters, Mrs. Hilda Persons of Plano, and Mrs. Maylie Marquardt of Big Rock; a brother, Albert Samuelson of Sturgis, SD and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Healy Chapel in Aurora, with the Rev. Morton Spence officiating. Interment was at the Welsh Cemetery in Big Rock.
