Born in Long Beach, Calif., she was the daughter of the late D.W. and Wilma Harmon Alexander and the wife of the late Jake Burton Lyon Sr.
Mrs. Lyon was a former registered nurse for Dr. James P. Crews in Cave City. She was a member of the St. Helen's Catholic Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Julie Greene and her husband, Doug, of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; three sons, David Lyon and his wife, Pam, of Roanoke, Va., Steven Lyon of Cave City and Jeff Lyon and his wife, Donna, of Park City; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Sarah Purcell of Mesquite, Texas; and a brother, Donald Alexander of North Charleston, S.C.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jake Burton "Burt" Lyon.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with visitation from 9 a.m. until time for services Friday. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Carolina Memorial Park in North Charleston, S.C.
Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
