Ellie R Aiken, 55, of Big Rock, died Monday, June 29, 1992 at Mercy Center Hospital in Aurora.
She was born December 22, 1936, in Grundy Center, Iowa, the daughter of John and Johanna (Gerdes) Kruse.
She married Rolly Aiken September 9, 1957, in Engelwood, CA.
She graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1955, attended the University of Northern Iowa, and later, Prairie State College in Chicago Heights, graduating with a nursing degree in 1971. She was employed in the obstetrical department of Mercy Center Hospital. She was a member of the English Congregational UCC Church in Big Rock.
She is survived by her husband; her mother, of Grundy Center, Iowa; on daughter Carol K Aiken of Big Rock; two sisters Marion (Melvin) Sherman of Applington, Iowa and Dorothy (Robert) Clark of Grundy Center, Iowa; one brother, Loren (Liz) Kruse of Ankeny, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Steven R. Aiken in 1982 and John K. Aiken in 1991, her father, and one sister, Esther Ruth in infancy.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Wednesday, at the English Congregational UCC Church in Big Rock, with the Rev. Kurt W. Simon officiating.
Burial will follow at the Welsh Cemetery in Big Rock.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2-9 pm at the Conley Funeral home in Elburn and also at the church Wednesday from 9:30 am until the time of services.
