Services have been set for Wednesday at Gesche Funeral Home, burial to follow in Neillsville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Afkind, the former Leona Spangler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence (Anna Dietrich) Spangler, was born July 10, 1910 at Jefferson, where she was educated. She worked in Janesville for several years and after she and Donald O. Afkind were married August 10, 1935 in Rockford, Illinois, they remained in Janesville a few years.
They then moved to various places while he did construction work. Twenty-seven years ago the Afkinds began farming in the town of Weston, Clark Count, where they since resided.
Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Miss Rosemary Afkind, Neillsville, and Mrs. Vernon (Helen) Johnson, Taylor; a sister, Mrs. Catherine Casey of Janesville; a brother, James Spangler, Janesville; and four grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents and three brothers.
