His family name is spelled 'Muscial' on the 1930 census when he was living with his mother and siblings. His sister Jane (Narcessa?) was born about 1922. Jane married Andrew Peters on September 2 1940. Andrew was the son of George Peters/ Pitell and Mary Paraska of Czechoslovakia. Ted's brother was Stephen Musial.
Ted graduated from Girard College for Boys in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. One of his best friends throughout his entire life was Lou White, a fellow Girardian. They met when they were six years old. They joined the United States Navy together with a few other friends from school. Everyone had to wait for Ted to turn 18 because his widowed mother would not sign him in underage. He served on the destroyer escort USS Marts (DE174) during World War II. Ted later joined the United States Air Force and retired as a Major. He returned as a civilian employee working for the United States Navy in Arlington, Virginia.
He met his first wife Lisolette 'Lisa' Herrman while stationed in Germany at Ramstein Air Force Base. They were married on August 23 1954 in Italy. Lisa (June 24 1930-Feb 2016 OH) immigrated to Texas with Ted and was naturalized on November 12 1962 in San Antonio. They had a daughter who became a dentist. His second wife was Virginia Vacirca Brown. They owned an antique shop in Georgetown for many years.
Ted was 83 years old when he died. He suffered a heart attack and later died at Sibley Hospital in Washington, D.C.
*His sister Jane's marriage record states that her parents were Stephen Musial and Mary Rusen. This is consistent with other historical records.
**Her name was spelled Olenats on Stephen and Mary's marriage record. It could be any one of these actual surnames: Olenak, Olenik, Olenick, Oleniacz, Olenschak, Oleniak, or Olejniczak. Her second husband George's parents were John Olinatz and Susanna Zastulka, who probably died in Czechoslavakia- not to be confused with John and Susan Russin Olenick, buried in Exeter. Any connection either may have to George or Mary's family is unknown at this time.
