Regina Marie Tilton
January 23, 1936 - May 1, 2014

Regina Marie Tilton, 78, died Thursday, May 1, 2014.

Rosary will be said at 1 p.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the church. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40.

Regina Marie Tilton went to be with her Lord and savior on May 1, 2014.

Regina was born Jan. 23, 1936, in Peoria, Ill., to Helen and Adrian Truitt. She graduated from the Academy of Our Lady in Peoria. She later met and married the love of her life, Lawrence D. Tilton, on April 14, 1956. They were married for 58 wonderful years. Through this marriage three children were born, Michael, Kathy and Karen.

Jeannie and Larry enjoyed a life of traveling, many friends and a loving family. Jeannie loved arts and crafts, shopping and, most of all, her husband and family. Grams, as all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren affectionately called her, was the definition of love. Her kind acts, unlimited love and devotion to each and every person will be greatly missed.

Larry and Regina resided in Burlington, Iowa, before moving to Amarillo in 1974. Their move to Amarillo was inspired by his employment with the Department of Energy. Throughout the years, Larry and Regina traveled and lived in many places throughout the U.S. before retiring and settling in Lubbock.

We will miss her sense of humor, guidance and presence. We thank our Lord for her inspiration in our lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Adrian and Helen Truitt; a loving son, Michael Dale Tilton; a brother, Don Truitt; and many more family and friends.

Survivors include her loving husband, Larry Tilton; two daughters, Kathy Gibson of Amarillo and Karen Muns and husband Mike of Waco; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
