Graveside services for Hugh A Ayers, 80, of 202 Gadsden St, retired detective with the Philadelphia police department, will b held at 2 o'clock this afternoon in Greenlawn Memorial Park by the Rev Lynn T Jones, pastor of Eastminster Presbyterian Church.
He died at his home Friday.
Mr Ayers was a native of Philadelphia, son of the late James and Jane Wilson Ayers. He had made his home in Columbia since Jan 1 of this year.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs Charlotte R Ayers; a son, Clifford S Ayers of Columbia; a granddaughter, Jane Cate Ayers of Columbia; a brother, Horace Ayers of Philadelphia, and four sisters, Mrs E E Cramer, Mrs Ida McEntire and Mrs George Simmons, all of Philadelphia, and Mrs Sarah Hitchings of Elizabethtown, Pa.
