Dr.(Bud) Agniel was raised in Sedalia and moved to Jefferson City in 1939 graduating from Jeff City High in 1940.He attended Northern Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago.He retired in 1986 after over 40 years of practice in Jefferson City.He was ordained a permanent deacon in the Diocese of Jefferson City in 1977..He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and belonged to the Equestrain Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem.Bud was active for many years in the prison ministry and a volunteer for JC Hospice.Dr. Agniel received the 2004 Missouri Catholic Conference "Citizen Recognition Award" in honor of his years of service in prison ministry.He is survived by his wife of 60 years Anna Leah Agniel.He is preceded in death by his son James Joseph Agniel who died in 1971..He was a member of St.Peters Church Jefferson City.
