Born & raised on a farm in Shelby, Ohio, they moved to Toledo, when he was 11. His father ran a saloon on Summit St. until Prohibition. Jacob & Sarah, moved back to Shelby and raised cattle. Albert & Olivia stayed in Toledo. Albert worked for New York Central Railroad all his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball & football, and most of all his family and church. He was a member of Saint Peter and Paul Church in Toledo.
