Georgia Kanas married Jimmie Abdouch September, 1953, in Douglas County, Nebraska.
Before their marriage, and for at least the first year after their marriage, Georgia worked as a cashier and a clerk for the Amos Grant store, on about 16th and Farnam, down by the Orpheum Theatre. Grant's was known as a small mercantile store, almost like a 5 and 10. It did sell some clothing but also sold various sundries. Jimmie had been in Korea, but in 1955 owned Abdouch Refrigeration, a company on Saddle Creek Road which installed and serviced air conditioning and refrigeration. The Abdouch Refrigeration advertisement in the City Directory highlighted their qualified engineers to do the work. In 1955 Georgia and Jimmie lived at 4130 N. 55th street in Omaha.
Georgia was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Abdouch.
Survived by daughter and son in law, Michelle and Bryce, Sr. Ryder of Omaha, Ne.; grandchildren, Jaclyn, Bryce, Jr., James, Brett.
Visitation April 30, 2014 5-7 pm at the John A. Gentleman 72nd Street Chapel, Omaha, Nebraska. Services May 1, 2014 10:30 at at St. John Greek Orthodox Church, Omaha, Nebraska.
Interment Westlawn Hillcrest Cemetery, Omaha, Nebraska.
