Don Mitchum, who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2011 at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith.
He was born July 12, 1936 in Sycamore, Alabama to the late Amos Mitchum and Josie (Haynes) Mitchum. He was 75 years old.

Don was a retired Produce Manager for Winton's IGA in Fort Smith and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston.

Rosary service will be 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 7th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston.

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 8th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston. Burial will be at Sacred Heart of Mary Cemetery near Barling in Fort Chaffee, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Ellen Mitchum; one daughter, Cathy Chastain and husband Kenny of Charleston; two sons, Donnie Mitchum and wife Stacy of Charleston and David Mitchum and companion Kirk Gardner of North Little Rock; three sisters, Rosie Davis, Pat Epperson, and Sue Northcut, all of Alabama; three brothers, Paul Mitchum of Dyer, Norman Mitchum of Charleston, and Ricky Mitchum of Alabama; three grandchildren, Laura Stanick, Aaron Mitchum, and Aimalie Mitchum.

Pallbearers will be Gary and Michael Donberger, Kenneth Vest, Kirk Gardner, Chuck Stanick, and Bryan Smith.

Honorary Pallbearers will be his poker buddies, Jimmy Murray, David Rice, and Mike Ramsey.
