Clyde, Grady Rathbone, age 84, of Anielee Lane, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at his residence.

A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Arthur and Nancy Packet Rathbone. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Roddy Ray and Curtis Rathbone; stepson, Eddie Black; two sisters, Gracie Price and Hazel Kirkpatrick and three brothers, Johnny, Wibur and Holis Rathbone. Grady retired from APAC at the Asphalt Plant with 37 years service. After retiring he worked in maintenance at Cold Spring Ranch. Grady was of Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Helen Gibson Rathbone; three daughters, Vivian Price (Bill) of Waynesville; Vonda Williams of Tennessee and Valerie King; a son, Grady Lee Rathbone (Jenny) of Clyde; two stepdaughters, Linda Black and Barbara Payne both of Waynesville; a stepson, Kenneth Black of Tennessee; a sister, Violet Earley of Clyde; 22 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Rathbone Cemetery beside the home.
