DODGEVILLE — Raymond H. Kobbervig, age 94, died on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville. He was born on Feb. 7, 1908, on the Donald Farm in Springdale Township, Dane County, a son of the late Albert and Ida Belle (Beard) Kobbervig. On Feb. 2, 1933, he married the former Anna Marie Coffey. She preceded him in death on Sept. 10, 1997. Together they farmed in the Dodgeville area, and he worked for the Dodgeville Dairy for many years. He owned and operated, the Dodgeville Locker Plant until he retired in 1957. He drove school bus for Anderson Bus Lines after retirement. Raymond was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Dodgeville Fire Department from 1939 to 1969, where he served as fire chief from 1964 to 1969. He also enjoyed woodworking and gardening after retirement. Raymond is survived by his two children; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his sister, Eleanor Williams of Dodgeville; his brother, Donald (Geraldine) Kobbervig of Dodgeville; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his daughters, Katherine Ann and Ann Elizabeth, his brothers, Edgar, Robert, and Kenneth; and his son-in-law, James Stein. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, at ST. JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Dodgeville. Father Henry Kalscheuer will officiate. Burial will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday at the MCGINLEY-GORGEN FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville, where a parish wake service will be held at 8 p.m. The family suggests that memorials be made to the St. Joseph's School Trust Fund.
