AURORA – Harley Herbert Specht , 81, of Aurora, formerly of West Chicago, Geneva and Batavia, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora. He was born June 15, 1929, in Sheboygan Falls, Wis., the son of Arthur Julius and Frieda Ida (nee Matt) Specht . He was united in marriage to Kathleen Tyler Domzalski on Dec. 31, 1963. Harley served in both the Army and Navy during the Korean War, transporting troops from the state of Washington to Anchorage, Alaska. He retired from the Chicago Northwestern Railroad after serving as an engineer for 37 years. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen; stepdaughter, Nancy (Michael) Porter of Batavia; stepson, Gary (Dennis Hull) Domzalski of Woodridge; his sons, Daniel (Pam) Specht of Rockton, Michael (Karen) Specht of Whitmore Lake, Mich., and Jeffrey Specht of Minneapolis, Minn.; his grandchildren, Eric Specht , Nicole Porter, David Specht , and Katy Specht ; and his great-granddaughter, Arianna Dixie Specht . In addition to his parents, Harley is preceded in death by his brothers, Roland Albert and Elroy Oscar, and a sister in early childhoood; and a granddaughter, Kristy Specht . All services and interment were held at River Hills Memorial Park in Batavia with Pastor Steve Okpisz of Faith Lutheran Church of Geneva presiding.
