Obituary of Mrs. Bessie Garis Bell

Mrs. Bessie Garis Bell, 80, formerly of R1, Parker, died at 8:20 a.m. Wednesday in the McGinley Rest Home, Chicora, where she had been the past month.

Prior to that she had made her home for five years with her daughter, Mrs. Beulah Rupert.

Mrs. Bell was born in Curllsville on March 8, 1881, a daughter of Henry and Sara (Embody) Kemery.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ at Wentlings Corners.

In addition to her daughter, she is survived by three grandchildren, Mrs. Darrell King, of Corning, N.Y.; Jean Garis, of Bolivar, N.Y., and Meredith Rupert, of R1, Parker, and two great grandchildren.

Friends were received at the Hawk Funeral Home in Sligo. Funeral services were held there at 2:30 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Mervin Schwab, pastor of the West Freedom Methodist Church, officiating. Interment followed in the Union Cemetery at the Stone Church.
