Alda was the daughter of George Boyd Adams and Dorothy Lee Davis Adams who went before her to help prepare for her homecoming. She grew up in Charlotte, NC and in Baltimore, MD for a short time.
She married her life time love, Clyde Monroe Todd, Jr. on November 6, 1955. They lived a while in Greensboro, NC and finally settled back in the Charlotte area where they raised their only child Tami Leigh Todd., they finally settled in Stony Point, NC.
She worked at Cresses dept. store, Ivey's, American Discount, American Cyanamid, Mecklenburg Co. 4-H program, Mecklenburg Co. Hot Meals for the Elderly, American Do-All, Peoples bank, Taylorsville Presbyterian & Hiddenite Center.
She is survived by her loving husband C. M. (Buddy) Todd, Jr. of Stony Point, NC. Her daughter, Tami Leigh Todd Brigman and her husband Claude Brigman, Jr. of Taylorsville, NC. Her brother, Thomas Lee Adams and his wife, Jan, of Charlotte, NC. Grandsons Geoffrey Lee Brigman and his wife April of Zionville, NC, and Thomas Scott Brigman and his wife Tara of Morganton, NC. Granddaughter Crystal Mechelle Brigman Childers and her husband Jack of Grover, NC. Her great-grand sons are Christopher Andrew Childers, Jesse Alexander Childers, and Gavin Monroe Brigman. Her great-granddaughter is Chasity Renee Isaacs-Brigman.
Visitation will be held at Stony Point United Methodist Church in Stony Point, NC at 3:00 PM with the service at 4:00PM for the Celebration of Alda's life.
They family will be welcoming visitors at the home on West Lackey Farm Rd. in Stony Point at other times.
The family thanks and supports the staff at Gordon's Hospice House and Iredell Hospice and Palliative Care for their care during Alda's preparation for her Homecoming. They treated the family with tender love and care.
