Our mother Ruth went to meet her Lord and Savior on Tuesday evening, March 25, 2014. Ruth died peacefully from the effects of Lewy Body Disease. Ruth was born on April 26, 1933 in De Pere to Henry George Secor and Winifred Calaway. She married George J. Koltz on August 27, 1955. He preceded her in death on September 10, 1983.

Ruth was baptized and married at St. Boniface Church. Her faith in God was strong which was evident in her daily attendance of church until her illness would no longer allow and the faith foundation both she and George instilled in their children.

Ruth was a stay at home Mom who's first and most important job was to care for her husband and children. Before her illness, Ruth volunteered her time to the Christian Out Reach Program, singing in the church choir and visiting the sick in the nursing home.

Ruth was a great mother, grandma (AKA Grams, G-Ma and Grammy) and great grandmother.

She is survived by her 4 children: George (Diane) Koltz, Karen (Craig) Effertz, Lynn (Corny) Roemaat and Mike (Wendy)Koltz.

She is further survived by her 14 "Favorite" grandchildren: Andy (Sara) Koltz, Sarah (Tim) Ray, David (Niki) Koltz, Paul Koltz, Caleb (Angela) Koltz. Anna Marie (Shane) Falish , Ruth (James) Auten, Grace Koltz, Vicki (Jesse) Konkle, Eric Effertz, Phil (Sara) Roemaat, Laura (Jacob) Phillips, Heather (special friend Brennan Tahtinen) Koltz and Becky (special friend Stefan Chitko) Koltz.

Also surviving her are her great grandchildren: Alexus, Shaun, Alivia, Brayden, Clayton, Colin, Bennett, Samuel Cash and soon to be born Ellie Grace.

Ruth is survived by her and George's sisters, brothers and in-laws, Hank (Mary) Secor, Joe (Judi Becker) Secor, June (Ralph) Wilcox, Rosalie Liska, Lucille Secor, Marie Secor and Lowell Van Straten. Marien (Tom) Kiley, Ray (Kathy) Kiley, Dick (Rita) Koltz, Jim (Marianne) Koltz, and Lee (Jo) Mc Dermid. Many nieces, nephews and Godchildren also survive her and special friends.

Other than her husband George and parents, Ruth was proceeded in death by an infant son Joseph, brothers, sisters and in-laws: Harold, George, Anne Marie, Chub, Betty Van Straten, Marlene , Richard Liska, Judy Mc Dermid (whom she helped raise after the passing of George's mother Gertude), Dorothy Kiley, Frank and Nancy Koltz

Family and friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday March 28, 2014. Visitation will continue at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Parish Family after 9:00 am Saturday until time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Saturday at the church with Father Tim Shillcox, O. Praem, officiating. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial funds will be set up for Unity Hospice and Our Lady of Lord's Parish where both Ruth and George were members of the Christian Mother Society and the Men's Holy Name Society. The family would like to personally thank Dr. Tracy Sherman, Dr. Concepcion Santilian, Birch Creek Assisted Living, Rennes Health Care Facility, and Unity Hospice for all of the care they provided to our Mother.
