Mrs. Gustavel was a graduate of West Lafayette High School and attended Purdue University. She formerly worked at Peet's Feeds, Spencer Grocery and as a secretary for Harold Stewart. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Tri-Kappa Sorority, both in Frankfort.
She was born February 1, 1921, in Tippecanoe County, to Nelson and Elvila (Gladback) Boyd. She married Richard Vanatta Gustavel in July 1942 and he preceded her in death on August 15, 1981.
Surviving are three daughters, Suzanne Payton of Michigantown, Sharon Costlow of Indianapolis and Karla Sanders of Frankfort; one brother, Robert Boyd of Jacksonville, Florida; one half-brother, George Gladback Jr. of Hawthorne, California; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. R. Patrick Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lafayette with graveside services at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
