Politician (Irish Parliamentary Party). Born Wexford, youngest brother of John Redmond. Educated Clongowes Wood College. He was MP for Wexford (1892-1917). Redmond and his brother John were involved in several fund -raising trips on behalf of the party, including a visit to Australia and the USA in 1883 when they raised 30,000.00 pounds. He accompanied Joseph Devlin to the USA (Feb-June 1902) when they met President Theodore Roosevelt and established 200 branches of the United Irish League and was in Australia and the USA again in 1905. He supported his brother in accepting the leadership of Charles Stewart Parnell after the split in the party. When he refused a commission in the British Army in 1914 he enlisted as a private and rose to the rank of Major before he was killed in action at the age of 56. A collection of articles which he contributed from Western Front to the London Chronicle was published posthumously. He was also the author of " A Shooting Trip in the Australian Bush" (1898) and " The New Common-Wealth".

His seat in East Clare was won by Eamon de Valera in 1917. Buried Locre near Ypres in Belguim.

His name is included on a war memorial in the Four Courts, Dublin, to Irish Barristers who died in World War 1.
