William Gather Ramsey, 82, of Erwin Route 2, died at his home last Thursday, November 30, 1950 at 2:15 a.m. after a lingering illness.
A native of Madison County, North Carolina, he is survived by his wife, three sons, Henry and Wade of Erwin, and Porter Ramsey of Unicoi; three daughters, Mrs. Franklin Lloyd, Miss Bessie Ramsey and Mrs. Jack Lewis, all of Erwin; a brother, Tommy Ramsey, Danville, Virginia; two sisters, Mrs. Andy Fender, Mrs. William Davis, Flag Pond; 35 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at Laurel Bend Church, Route 2, Erwin, Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Burial was in Ivy Ridge, North Carolina. The Rev. McKinley Franklin officiating.
