Doody-Clarke Wedding
At a lovely candlelight ceremony Sunday at the home of Mrs. Warren Clarke of LeConte Avenue, her daughter, Miss Catherine Cavanaugh Clarke, became the bride of Dr. Thomas Clare Doody. Dr. William Arthur Morgan officiated at the service before the fireplace, which was banked with woodwardia fern and white dahlias. Other portions of the living room were decorated with baskets of asters in the pastel shades.
The bride’s brother, Allen Clarke, gave her in marriage. She wore a delicate pink bouffant dress and her flowers were orchids. The bride’s mother wore navy blue net, with an orchid corsage.
Wedding music was played by the bride’s cousin, Sheila Lewis, of Seattle. A reception for 50 guests followed at the bride’s home.
The couple are now en route to Raleigh, N.C., where Dr. Doody will be connected with North Carolina State College.
The bride attended College of the Pacific and University of California. She was affiliated with Alpha Theta Tau and Gamma Phi Beta sororities. Her father was the late Prof. Warren Clarke of the University of California.
Dr. Doody is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Chic Doody, formerly of San Rafael. He is a graduate of University of California, where he was affiliated with Alpha Chi Sigma fraternity and Sigma X honor society.
