Lucille H. Gardiner, 96, of Stephenson, Mich., passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Roubal Care and Rehab Center. The former Lucille Swanson was born on June 9, 1917 in Daggett, Mich., to the late Frank and Emelia (Dahlberg) Swanson.
Lucille was a 1936 graduate of Stephenson High School.
On March 23, 1936 Lucille married John F. Gardiner in Stephenson, Mich. John preceded her in death on July 7, 1977. Lucille owned and operated Gardiner's Mobile Service and Grill retiring in 1974. Lucille enjoyed going to Red Hats, crocheting and traveling. She was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church where she served as church organist for many years.
Lucille is survived by her son, James (Norma) of Stephenson, Mich.;
daughter-in-law, Pat Gardiner of Plymouth, Wis.;
son-in-law, Pat Francour of Stephenson, Mich.;
8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, John Jr.; daughter, Nanci Francour; four sisters and two brothers.
Family and friends may call at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, on Thursday, March 20, 2014, from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 12 noon. Pastor Cori Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Stephenson Township Cemetery in the spring. Anderson Diehm Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
