Cora was born on August 18, 1924 and passed away on January 4, 2014. Cora was a resident of San Marcos, California.

Cora Elizabeth Doll Ashlock Eaton, 89, of San Marcos, CA, died Saturday, January 4, 2014 in Carlsbad, California.

She was born to the late Otis and Lyna Doll, August 18, 1924, in Yellow Creek Township, Chariton County, Missouri. She moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado with her parents. Cora graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1942. She married the late Orin Ashlock in 1944, and they lived together in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Cora and her five children moved to Vista California in 1963. She purchased her home in San Marcos, California in 1965. She married the late Donald C. Eaton in 1971 and they lived together in San Marcos, California.

Cora's employment consisted of S & H Kress and Company in Colorado Springs 1941 – 1945 again in 1961-63; JC Penny's 1963-1964; WT Grant Company 1964-1965 as an office Manager; and McMahan furniture April 18, 1965-August 1966. She started her Civil Service career at US Naval Hospital Post office, Camp Pendleton, California August 24, 1965-1977. September 9, 1977 she transferred to the Purchasing Office at Camp Pendleton, California; where she retired as a Supervisory Contract Specialist in 1991.

Cora was a lifelong active vital member of the Church of Christ; presently she was a member of the Palomar Church of Christ in San Marcos, California. She also did missionary work with the Sojourners from 1990 to present. She was a devout Sunday School Teacher and Vacation Bible School Teacher. During her retirement years she was a great Mary Kay Consultant. Her loved past-time was sewing; often creating her family's clothing; after retirement she continued to sew creating a plethora of quilts, table clothes, curtains, table runners, place mats, and pillow cases for children as well as teaching quilting at Quilt In A Day. She also participated in charity quilting every month. She enjoyed card making and tole painting. Her giving heart and many talents provided her the pleasure of creating gifts for almost everyone she met.

Cora is survived by her Sons and Daughter-in-laws: Sim Scott Ashlock (Becky) of Austin Colorado; Rex Orin Ashlock (Sandy) of Canyon City, Colorado; Stepson Donald Hamilton Eaton of Canyon City, Colorado.

Daughters: Lyna Jane Dyson (David) of San Marcos, California; Lola Jean Skelton of Lake Hughes, California.

Grand Children and Grand Children-in-laws: Bryan Dyson (Laurie); Debbie Ashlock; Rex Ashlock; DeAnna Diaz (Margarito); Dora Skelton; Loel Cowan (Peter); Wesley Skelton; Sim Ashlock; Jesse Skelton (Jodi); Dawn North (Kevin); Cassidy Skelton (Rosalyn)

Great Grandchildren: Joshua Ashlock; Kerri Ashlock; Brianna Diaz; Danielle Dyson; Kayla Skelton; Casandra Diaz; Ashlyn Cowan; Zackary Cowan; Kylee Skelton; Lucas Cowan; Zoey Skelton; Sadie North; expected in February Baby Diaz; Baby North; Baby Skelton.

She was preceded in death by her mother Lyna Ellen Doll; husband Orin Smith Ashlock; father, Otis Jake Doll; daughter, Kathy Alice Ashlock; son-in-law, David Alfred Skelton; husband, Donald Charles Eaton; and sister, Roberta Alice Klinker.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Sojourners Missionary – National Evangelism With Sojourners / Church of Christ Sojourner Mission: Sojourner office – Camp Bee; 5554 Cooks Road, Marshall, TX 75670 or the Palomar Church of Christ church library.

A viewing will be held at Allen Bothers Mortuary on Monday, January 13, 2014 at 4:00 – 8:00 pm; a Memorial Service at Palomar Church of Christ in San Marcos, CA on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 10:30; immediately following a graveside service will be held at San Marcos Cemetery, upon completion the family of Cora Eaton would like to invite you to the reception at the Palomar Church of Christ San Marcos, Ca.
