John W. Sawyer, 71, Homosassa, retired machinist, died Friday.
He was born in Sabattus, Maine and moved to Homosassa 10 years ago from Laconia, N.H.
Mr. Sawyer was a member of the VFW of Hernando, Masonic Lodge, Tilton, N.H., and a Protestant by faith.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Mooers Sawyer of Homosassa, three sons: John W. Sawyer, Jr., Danville, Vt., Charles Sawyer, Gilmanton, N.H., Rodney Sawyer of Ocala; a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Duffy, Oldbridge, N.J., a brother, Allen I. Sawyer of Rockwood, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
