Nettie Pinnix Cox, 86, of New Bern died Oct. 15, 2001, at her residence.
She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity.
Funeral services will be at 10a.m. Wednesday at Centenary United Methodist Church with the Revs. Ed Sharpe and Danny Allan officiating.
Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Paul M. Cox of the home; one son, Dr. William M. Cox and wife, Jane S. Cox if Richmond, VA; one daughter, Dr. Ruth P. Cox of Birmingham,
AL; and one grandchild, Jennifer A. Cox.
She was predeceased by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William M. Pinnix.
The family will receive friends on hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Colonial Capital Humane Society, PO Box 326, New Bern NM 28563-0326.

Ms. Nettie was a very sweet, yet stern lady. She was a very special woman. Hospice Care and Home Health Care were provided for several months for Ms. Nettie and her husband, Mr. Paul.

Her little dog was a constant companion. He wouldn't leave her side, wanted on her bed her last few days and didn't want to leave the cemetery! He wore the family tartan wrap for the graveside service.
