Gordon Edington was born May 12, 1939 in Knoxville, Tennessee the son of the late John Atkin Edington and Mary Ella Clarkson Edington. Mr. Edington died Thursday, January 9, 2014 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville at the age of 74 Years, 7 Months, 28 Days. Mr. Edington, a U.S. Air Force veteran, served over 20 years achieving the rank of Tech Sergeant. After his retirement from the Air Force he became a letter carrier, a post he held until his full retirement.
On June 9 2003 he was married to Florine Brock Pevahouse Edington.
He is survived by his wife, Florine Brock Edington of Clifton, daughters, Dlyn Lee Witt and Nadine F. Kinney and husband Neil all of Colorado Springs, CO. stepdaughter, Donna Pulley of Clifton, step sons, Bobby Pevahouse Jr. and wife Jackie and Stephen Pevahouse and wife Selena all of Clifton,
10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren,
three sisters in law, Oda Mae Pevahouse, Lucy Pevahouse, and Peggy Allen all of Clifton, TN.
Services will be Sunday, January 12, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Clifton United Methodist Church with Josh Layne officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Clifton Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
