He enlisted into the Army in April of 1943 and served in the Philippines until discharged in November of 1945.
When he returned from the Army, he drove truck in the family business, which later became Lowry Brothers Trucking. They hauled milk into the Oakdale Hershey plant. He retired in 1980.
He loved to play golf and was on many bowling teams. He enjoyed watching the Oakland A's play baseball. Trips to Black Oak Casino were high on his list of places to go.
He was never married, although had a best friend and campanion for life, Charlotte Carter, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his nephew and nieces, Dan (Carol) Lowry, Michelle Lowry, Dianne (Bob) Pennell and Jackie (Albert) Johnson.
Visitation Thursday, March 6th from 3pm to 7pm at Oakdale Memorial Chapel, 830 West "F" Street, Oakdale.
Graveside services Friday, March 7th at 11am at Oakdale Citizens Cemetery, 701 East "J" Street, Oakdale.
