John P. Williams, of East Brunswick, NJ passed away on August 2, 2008 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 58 years old. Born in Jersey City, he has been a resident of East Brunswick for 27 years. John was veteran serving in the US Navy. After leaving the service, he began his 35 year career as an elevator mechanic for the Schindler Elevator Company in Morristown, NJ. A tireless hard worker, John was a member of the Local #1 Elevator Union where he had served as a Shop Stewart for many years. A skilled woodworker and handyman, he would always find time to help out family and friends. He was a charitable man who was very generous with his time, talent and treasure. John enjoyed playing golf, gardening and spending special time with his grandson Jack. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he was truly loved and will be missed by all that knew him. John is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Marianne E. Williams; two daughters, Stacy D. Sullivan & her husband, John of Spotswood, NJ and Jill A. Williams and her fiance' Jerome Hampton of North Brunswick, NJ; two sisters, Susan Ferdinando of Martinsville, NJ and Karen Katz of East Brunswick, NJ; three brothers, Philip Williams of Howell, NJ, Patrick Williams of South River, NJ and David Williams of Bethleham, PA. Also survived by his mother in law, Elizabeth O'Neill of Milltown, NJ and two grandsons, Jack and Riley. The family will receive friends at the Bronson & Guthlein Funeral Home of Milltown, Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral Services, Wedneday 10am at the funeral home. Interment, Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick, NJ.
