Obit: Cortland Standard - Glenn R. Angell, 71, of Paradise Hill Road, Lincklaen Center, NY, passed away Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, in Norwich. He was born in DeRuyter. He was elders Quorum President of the Norwich Branch of The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For 20 years, Glenn served in local politics as Lincklaen Town Supervisor from 1974-95, chairman of the Chenango County Board of Supervisors from 1988-92, and Lincklaen Town Council 1996-2003. His biggest accomplishments were paving Lincklaen roads, repairing county bridges un the 1990's, doubling the size of the Chenango County Office building, implementing the construction of the Chenango County solid waste facility in Pharsalia, and successfully fighting the proposed nuclear waste dump in 1989. Glenn spent 50 years as a dairy farmer, first at his father's, Burnell's Linkview Farms and then at Sabrown Farms. Surviving are his wife, a son, a daughter (son in-law), their mother, a brother, a sister Lois (Note: names of living have been removed). He was predeceased by his parents, Burnell and Marjorie Angell; and his sister, Ruth Friedman. Services will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Smith funeral Home, DeRuyter.
